Re: Moving Prism to a different computer
Hi Hamza, I was not aware of the method of transferring tokens, or that we are allowed three copies installed ... thought it was only two. Anyway, I've now been able to transfer one installation between computers and add a third ... one each in my two observatories and one on the 'processing' deskto...

Moving Prism to a different computer
I recently needed to replace my city observatory PC (Win7) with a newer PC (Win10) and as I already have two copies of Prism 10 installed (one each in my city and rural observatories) I need to 'move' Prism from my old city PC to the new one. How can I do this? I have sent two emails on this topic w...

Problems following 10.4.0.516 update
I just updated from 10.3.65.505 to 10.4.0.516 and encounter the following problem with my QHY22 camera's recorded FITS files: With the previous version the file size was 2758 x 2208 but with the latest update it has changed to 2752 x 2208, which makes the files incompatible with files recorded with ...

Prism upgrade costs
Maybe Hyperion isn't willing to comment but why does it cost so much to upgrade from Prism Pro to Advanced? With the current sale prices there is a $151 difference between Pro and Advanced, but the upgrade costs $180, which doesn't look very fair of logical to me, as it is penalising existing users....

Twin ZWO camera operation possible?
I intend also asking this on the ZWO Support forum but maybe you already know the answer to the following question: Is it possible to run both a ASI174MM Mini (using ASCOM) and a ASI174MM (using Direct Show) simultaneously with PRISM Pro? While physically different both cameras are electronically th...

'Search for' not finding objects
The AAVSO has just put out a bulletin on V694 Mon and when I ask Prism to search for it the star is not found. I have made sure that the Variable star GCSV catalog has been selected. Also, when I click the 'CDS info (web)' button CDS says it cannot find 'V694'. Of course CDS does find that target wh...

Re: Observatory altitude value
This is where I changed my observatory's altitude value. I then clicked Default, which I understand saves it as the default value, the OK, then reloaded Sky Chart Setup … value back to 0.

Objects not centering
Why is it that the centering function does not centre the selected object at higher zoom values?
As an example, trying to centre NGC4993 (centre of DSS plate) in the attached image shows the best I can achieve.

Bernard

I would like to install UCAC4, which I have on a two-sided DVD, so what do I need to do? I have moved all the files (1500) from the DVD to a temporary 8.5GB folder but which sub-folders or files does Prism actually need and where do I copy them to? The sub-folder I have are shown in the attached ima...

Moving the window around did not have any effect for me but maximizing/un-maximizing the window did 'solve' the problem. Thanks for the temporary fix.

Re: Camera setup error
To say I'm unimpressed by the level of support I am receiving for this problem, which has stopped me using camera #1 for nearly two weeks, is an understatement!
I can't believe or accept that you can't tell me how to clear the camera blockage. Do I need to reinstall Prism?

While setting up a DSI III as Cam #1 (Settings/Hardware/Cameras/Setup) I entered one or both of the Gain and Offset values outside of the listed drop-down range. I'm just starting to learn how this program works and have not had a problem, until now. I am not having much success finding objects using the 'Search for an object' icon (binoculars). While you can use the mouse to click and shift the map view is not 'live', or real time, as in Patrick's other brilliant CdC (or in TheSky), i.e., the mouse creates an arrow that will show the direction and amount of map view change that will happen next. The fact that the map view doesn't change as...

So far one of my least favourite parts of PRISM is Skychart, mainly because I'm not yet familiar with it and also because I've not found a way to easily (a button click) select which cardinal point of the sky I want to face, i.e. N, S, E or W. Can this be done?
