Re: Calibrating guider

One other thing Hamza, about RA direction being reversed - the mount calibrates fine using PHD, so I don't believe I should have an issue with RA direction being reversed. I might try a different part of the sky - however, I was following the method that you've outlined in the tutorial to the tee. L...

Re: Calibrating guider

RA direction is reversed? How do I check for that - is there a specific thing in the driver that I need to look for?

BTW, thanks for the update!

Thanks,
Dhaval

Calibrating guider

Hi all, I am really struggling to set up calibration for my guider and will really appreciate any help at this time. Some background: I originally had a SBIG ST-i guide camera. I had it calibrated initially, however, a user error (instead of clicking on "Start" button, I hit the "Calibrate" button)....

Auto-guiding questions

I have a couple of questions related to Auto-guiding - I did an initial calibration run and the it calibrated quite well. On the basis of that calibration, it also guided quite well and I was easily able to do a 20 minute sub with my setup. I am not sure what I did the following night, but now when ...

Re: possible bug

I had a funny thing happen with my focuser on 5/29/2018. I have a Moonlite Nitecrawler on Windows 10 Home connected to Prism using ASCOM drivers by ML. The focuser was working just fine prior to 5/29/2108 and even during the afternoon when I was collecting calibration files, however, in the evening ...

Re: Suggest New Tutorial Topics

Can we have a dedicated tutorial on Focusing especially within Automatic Observations? I believe there is a difference especially what HFD and ADU values need to be used to select a star. I realize that every equipment combination cannot be figured out, but I know in one of the Focusing tutorials yo...

Temperature compensation for Auto focusing

Hello all, Is there a way to train Prism for temperature compensation for auto focusing? I would like to do a run of a change of +/- 5 degrees C over a course of say 60 minutes to ensure my focusing is working perfectly. I am not sure how it is doing right now. I typically do a manual focus run (I h...

Auto Focus help

When I run auto-focus during automatic observation, I sometimes get an error message indicating Barycenter Validation error. Anyone know what that error is and how it affects actual focusing? Additionally, how to overcome that error?

Files size is double of what it is in SGPro

Hello all, I used to image with SGPro and then I bought Prism. I have generally loved using Prism given that it has much more functionality than SGPro, however, there is one thing that has been bothering me. The images saved from a Prism run are double the size of what they were when I used SGPro (3...

Great question as usual Dhaval

Yes it does, I will prioritize that video for publication. This is the best way to demonstrate PRISM’s capility.
That's awesome Hamza, won't have to buy CCDInspector!

BTW, the Automation tutorial is great!

Does Prism identify tilt in an image?

Hello all,
Question - does Prism help to identify if I have a flat field in my image or not - something like CCDInspector? If so, how do I do that?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: APCC Pro, ASCOM AP Driver, Prism Advanced with an AP Mount -

Hello Hamza, Thanks for the encouraging words. Like I mentioned in the post, I don't profess to be a software developer, but I have done some software development in the past and I am hoping that my request is not too terribly difficult to implement. I do get your point about being able to cater to ...

APCC Pro, ASCOM AP Driver, Prism Advanced with an AP Mount -

Hello all, I wanted to take the time and write about how I have gone about integrating Prism (Advanced version) with APCC Pro. First of all, a few things to note: 1) I have a new to me AP1200 mount from Astro-Physics and purchased Prism Advanced version within the past few days (I had been trialing ...

Re: Observatory switch issue

I wanted to report on this issue. This is now fixed for me. Daniel Malony (a fellow Austinite and owner of Stellar Skies helped me). Apparently, I was using ASCOM switches (single) which does not seem to be working. Instead, I needed to have been using Native System (Several Systems + ASCOM). (BTW, ...

Re: Observatory switch issue

Hello Hamza, Attached is the log file. A couple of things - I see a lot of Registry errors - not sure what they are? Does that mean that I should re-install the program or are they normal if certain parameters are not set? (Sorry, can't seem to attach a .log file - so copying and pasting here - also...

Observatory switch issue

Hello, I bought and installed Prism Advanced version 10.3.42.385 last evening and I have been trying to play around the Observatory Switch Control under Observatory. I have a Digital Loggers Web Power Switch and did install the ASCOM driver for the switch. I have it set up under Hardware Settings. N...
