Guiding Failure

I am using an AP 1100 with APCC. and a Lodestar X2 as a guider. Recently I have not been able to auto guide successfully. I do slit spectroscopy using the fixed position option. Measuring the X and Y position on a image of the guide camera agrees with the X and Y positions used by PHD2 The slit is n...

Re: pointing model failure

Success. I final have achieved a model with two areas without data. Not surprising for those two areas as the fields did not have many stars for a five second exposure.
Pointing model shot 142 images with 98 successful.

pointing model failure

I have tried twice to create a pointing model and both times I have aborted the model because of the low success rate plate solving. The first time it only solved about 20% of the points and the second it didn't solve any.. I currently plate solve with a ZWO 120 and a 9x50 Celestron finder scope. Fo...

Re: Prism Advanced Camera 3 Plate solve

close the topic.. While the DSI worked in PHD2 the driver apparently doesn't work with Prism.
I replaced the camera with a ZWO ASI 1120

Prism Advanced Camera 3 Plate solve

I purchased The Advance version for the third camera to be used with a Celestron 9x50 finder scope and Meade DSI for plate solving. I have not been able to plate solve in Prism using this combination with an image taken by camera three using a 15 second exposure, I can take a picture with this combi...

Re: Suggest features for V11

Under Automation, add A tab for Spectroscopy. Shelyak Instruments, maker of the Lhires, Alpy and Lisa spectroscopes has come out with a device called the SPOX which can be controlled by script to operate the Calibration and Flat lamp. I take calibration images before and after each target and a flat...

Re: Suggest features for V11

I guide on the the target.with my Lhires iii which is limited to bright targets. and very short guide exposures which of course would chase seeing. I would to see Prism add a feature like PHD's advanced setup under the camera tab which allows the user to set a "Time Lapse" in ms to keep from chasing...

Re: Suggest features for V11

How about "Views" like PHD 2, especially the spectrograph slit and the ability to change the position of the slit. Or at least the ability to re position the current cross hair.
Thanks,

Switches

I watched your automation video. Well Done. I have question on switches within Prism or ASCOM. I currently manage everything myself manually. I have two 12 volt power supplies. One is dedicated to the AP mount and the other supplies as Anderson connection distribution panel mounted on the scope whic...

Getting Meade DSI to work in Prism

I have a DSI I use as camera 3 for use on a finder scope. All appears well in that prism recognizes the camera and attaches it. It goes through the count down when told to take an image., but no useable data is obtained. A 1 second expose so no more data thank a 15 second data. It works in PHD2 . Th...

Re: Telescope Status issue

was just playing with the scope under the clouds. 1 if I use the AP the mount will go to Park 1 without going to the east side 1st , as happens with Prism thinking the scope is East.. I can live with use the AP driver since it loads with the telescope anyway. 2. if the last target before a Park comm...

Re: Local Sidereal Time

Ok, the problem is gone tonight.. I read about about changing park position and your reply to save by setting/ software settings/ save software setup to database registry
that seems to have solve the sidereal problem . AP driver and Prism now agree on the time.

Re: Telescope Status issue

Thanks, Just to be perfectly clear. The telescope is physically on the west side and prism thinks it on the East side. So when it goes to the Park position Prism puts the telescope on the East side when it's told to Park. Then the AP driver moves it to the West. I need the telescope to the West to o...

Re: Telescope Status issue

I have the alt and az set, but the telescope is on the East side, I want it on the west so I can open my roll off roof.
Reversing az only changes the telescope from pointing North to South

I'm showing a sidereal time difference between the AP driver and Prism of about 25' 30''.

Telescope Status issue

I have an AP900 When I select The mount and launch both the AP Driver and Prism launch. The mount's initial Park Position is AP's defined Park 1 with the Telescope horizontal on the West side and pointing North. Prism's "telescope status" as scope to the east. I can change the default Alt AZ , but h...

Re: Getting my Minimized windows back?

Add me to the list. Windows 10 Home edition. When I hit minimize the window disappears with no way to restore the window. The button which launch the window still show the device as connected on the upper bar. when I click on the button it disconnects the device as it should.
