Re: Setting up Pulse Guiding with EQMOD
Thanks for giving it a second chance Rowland, I appreciate it. the dead giveaway of guider issues is the amount of motion between guider calibration steps. If it something like 1 or 2 pixels of motion, something is preventing PRISM from actually moving the mount. I had an EQ8 and ran beautifully wit...

you need to go to settings > Default observing site and make sure it is set up right for your location. The skychart needs to match the main software's time and date otherwise you risk destroying your equipment. Other software won't even give you this warning.

It is actually not DDP so your data is not "stretched", it is just high and low cutoffs that you can control in the settings. It is here: Settings > Software settings > Image display.

It is normal that the EQMOD confirms what we advanced since it is what is a happening here. PRISM pulls the different speeds from your mount's driver, these need to be set there. If 800x causes the noise, try lowering it. This goes for all other speeds you can adjust.

Re: Eq8 terrible noise when slew with prism
I must interject here, The only thing prism is doing is tell ASCOM what to do, that is it. If you wish to slew to M20, PRISM will tell ASCOM to slew to those coordinates and EQASCOM takes it from there. PRISM does not talk directly to your mount, it does not talk directly to ANY mount for that matte...

Re: Taking Flats
Taking flats is an automatic process to capture the best ones for your system. Knowing what your linear range is, PRISM will capture them for you automatically. it is under Observatory > Capture calibration images > Flat. The automatic observation has the same mechanism but is designed to take sky f...

Re: Updating without internet and temp settings
Very good questions indeed. One way to do this is to install PRISM on a computer that does have internet then copy Prism.exe and Prism.enu to the offline computer and just replace the files in C:\Program Files (x86)\PRiSM v10. As for the C vs F, Not that I know of. I have to ask, is this really that...

I agree wtih Vikrant, I used an HDX110 (EQ8) for months with great results using EQMOD and an EQDIR cable. If you need further help, just let us know.

Re: Selecting For Paramount
good morning Hank
Can you please share your findings with us? I am sure someone else can benefit. Also, I have my new observatory up and running and I can make demos on how PRISM can interact with Paramounts. So far, no issue.
Thanks

Re: Getting camera parameters from plate solve
Which I have done. Since I plate solve the images, I get the focal length etc. which I have entered manually. It's just that this took me a while to figure out. Presumably the developer was trying to eliminate that energy barrier with the "get data from plate-solved image," so it would be nice if i...

Having a 1 mm difference falls within the centroid and star catalog uncertainty
, it is nothing to worry about to be honest.

I expected a little more movement in this thread but I guess spectro takes the crown. Our new observatory is nearing completion and I think that a lot more video tutorials will be produced.
Re: Flip Flat
Hi Russ You can execute a script at the end of the automatic observation to do just that, we offer a way to do this at the end of the session. However, our roadmap includes a few very exciting features to make the user experience that much greater. In the meantime, you can just use the flat field ac...

understood, I have your images and we will examine this. One thing to note: you could very easily enter this information about your imaging train manually when you setup the cameras, focal length being of cardinal importance here.

Re: Getting camera parameters from plate solve
and no, having an OSC or mono has no effect on this, it is simply trying to say that the fits headers and the equipment you're trying to set are different. If they are the same and you get the error anyway, it would be a bug that needs to be resolved.

Re: Getting camera parameters from plate solve
Alright, that explains PRISM's behavior then. It is trying to tell you that the image was taken from a camera that is different than the model/make you are setting up. I am assuming this is the case?

Re: Getting camera parameters from plate solve
Good morning Please accept my apologies, I am having major issues with this forum's notification system. We are doing something about this and will be greatly improved very soon. First, I have successfully plate solved all three just now and PRISM finds over 20,000 stars in the images. What is the s...

I can't seem to log in to the "clients" area, getting a message that I'm awaiting approval by the website manager. I paid for Prism on 1 April 2018, and received my license key in an email from Hamza that day. Good morning Sorry about he delay. Between preparing and traveling to NEAIC/NEAF, it has ...

Re: PrimaLuce focuser problem
Brent I need some screenshots from the hardware setup window where you tell PRISM about the parameters of your focuser when you choose it. Also, when you select the driver and then press the properties button in the ASCOM selector, I'd like a screenshot of that as well. I think the driver itself is ...

Yes, the catalog installer from Andy Galasso can find the catalog files as long as you point the software to it them. For the plugin, please use this link : http://dl.hyperion-astronomy.com/Astrom ... 017%29.exe

Hello Wayne,
Yes you can, every PRISM license comes with 2 activations. The idea is that one is for a capture and the other for a processing computer.
