I think this just started after the last upgrade to v 10.3.34.36 (possible that I just didn’t notice earlier though…)
Using Automatic Observations, after doing meridian flip, Prism goes through it’s plate solving steps.
Trouble is, it’s not changing to the ‘reference’ filter before taking the image. Now it’s trying to plate solve a 7 second image using the last filter selected. (Ha filter in this case). Of course, this is failing both local plate solving and most often failing Astronometry.net’s attempt.
*Note – when doing a plate solve other than after the flip, it looks like it’s using the reference filter as expected.
I can probably find logs that show this if you need it…

Hi and thanks for posting your findings.
In fact the logs will be of great help, you can enable the main log by going to Settings > LogFile and them press the furst checkbox in the top left of the popup called "Enable PRISM log to be written..." . I would also like to get the associated automatic observation log located at Documents > Prism > og_obs_auto.

One hardware side, can you please list the equipment you are using when this happened?

Thanks.

For some reason, I couldn't attach a file to this post. I kept getting an "invalid file extension" error.
I trimmed down an auto-observation log to what I hope is the pertinent part and included below.
Equipment - QSIwsg8, ST-i guide camera on QSI's OAG, Astro-Tech 10" RC (AT-10RCT), all piled on to an iOptron CEM60.

#1 is Reference (Luminance) filter
#5 is H-Alpha filter

You should see that it runs a focus routine on Filter #1, then switches to #5.
Meridian flip occurs, then runs a plate-solve routine but does not change back to the reference filter.

Hello and thanks for the post,

Please try to upload the logs now, there was a bug in the forum upload system. This will help us investigate further.

Thanks

Hi

If you happen to run this again and the same behavior occurs, can you also make sure that Prism log ( not the automatic obs) is also active?

thanks

I can, but I have been avoiding doing a flip during an auto obs run since this started. I can try setting up a situation to repeat the behavior, but it seems the log provided should show that the plate solve after the flip is not using the reference filter.
The forecast is looking poor, so it may take me a week or so to get it.
Thanks!

The proper checkbox must be enabled to ensure that reference filter will be used.
If so, I would like to see the obs auto log.

Hi

One option that needs to be selected in the Telescope tab of the automatic observation is "use reference filter", please see the attached picture.

Thanks

I've been looking through old auto-obs logs to find some that contain a flip. I attached a few more.
I did not notice this happening until after the last upgrade, but the logs look like this was happening before the last upgrade (my prism.exe file is dated 9/29/2017 - I think that's when I updated it...)

Thanks for looking!

I have 'use reference filter' checked - I don't remember changing it so I think it's been checked for a long time now

Ok, this is an all sky plate solve. Reference filter was not in there, I have added it.

Ha!
I'll try to work up the nerve to post some. Compared to others I see, my images are interesting little fuzzballs :)
