While attempting to update my software from 10.3.44 to 10.3.46 my computer's Defender software is detecting a Trojan Win32/Bitrep.A and refusing to install. It could be a false positive but not taking any chance at the moment until someone can verify.

Hello
PRiSM execute "update.exe" file during update. Windows defender takes *.exe are virus and delete it just before execution, this cause fail in update.
Just go to windows defender settings and make allow prism.exe, prism64.exe, update.exe (just type these file name) in settings (there is option "Exclusion" in window defender settings, where any file can be put)
This will solve case.
Cheers

Vikrant is correct, make sure PRSIM's main folders are in your scanner's exemption list. As these virus scanners update their databases, a few files get flagged as harmful but these are falls positives as you said. We scan PRISM with 70 scanners and it comes back clean ( of course it does
