After downloading the additional star catalogues where do they need to be filed ? I have looked but can't seem to find this information.
David,
If I understand your question properly, it doesn't really matter where you put the files once you have downloaded them. I use the default c:\Program Files\Prism\ location.
First go to Settings/Star Catalog Path Settings

Then click on the tab for the catalog you wish to assign the location and tell it where you unzipped the files.

Hopefully that helps.

I followed this but when I try to plate solve an image I get "Fatal error while searching for field RA/DEC coordinates: Unable to find GSC files. []
But if you look at the search window behind the error it dispays that it searched 7/25281. Its almost like the zip I downloaded is missing files??

Managed to get it working, not sure exactly how, I re-extracted the zip over the directory, and I also downloaded a fresh copy.

sometimes some catalogs have a folder within a folder you need to point to such as /UCAC4/UCAC4/. Glad you got it working though.
