Hopefully someone can watch this video and tell me what I'm doing wrong....

And you can see I tried the Direct Auto Focus feature letting the software pick the star to focus on and the same thing happens.

Hello,
Your videos are really great !
What Prism version do you use ?
What is the version of ASIcamera2.dll (located same folder as prism.exe)
I just tried right now, with ASI 183MM camera, and simulator focuser, + PRISM v10.3.49, and it works fine, I can see the star.
Just to know, did you a full frame image before or was a crop ?
And you can see I tried the Direct Auto Focus feature letting the software pick the star to focus on and the same thing happens.
It will, because it uses the same procedure set.
Let me know.

here is what I have ->
Your Prism is OK.
ASIcamera2.dll is a bit old …
Try this out ->
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yfty5enh2qz2h ... 2.zip?dl=0
(Close PRISM prior updating this file)
I have an ASI 1600MM but is currently outside waiting for clear sky…
Did you change the window size for focusing ? I have 50x50 pixels

Rgds,
Cyril,
Thank you for the prompt response. I will install the updated .dll tomorrow and try it again tomorrow night.
Regarding the window size for focusing, I did not change it from the default setting but will confirm as well tomorrow night.

If weather does not improve, I'll take indoor the ASI 1600 MM and I have a collimateur for a fake star.
I've updated the .dll file to the one you provided. ver. 1.13.5.28 and plan to attempt autofocus and direct autofocus again this evening.

I tried with ASI 1600MM-Cool (before Pro version, with no DDR3 ram) and it is OK by me, see below ->
Aren't you totally out of focus when you start the procedure ?
prism 10.3.49

Rgds,
My 1600mm is version 1. The model before they added the 2port USB hub to the back. I believe version 2 added the hub and version 3 the pro version with DDR ram.
I am NOT starting very far out of focus. In fact I'm starting as close to perfect as I think it can be. I'm just trying to get the software to further tweak it to perfection.
In other words, by my eye I think 16255 is perfect so that's where I have it set. I then tell the software to start at 16150 and end at 16350 with increments of 20 for the V curve.

Same problem. Not finding the star.
Would a complete wipe and clean install of the program possbily help? If so, how do I go about re-licensing the new install?

Never seen that. Something has been corrupted.
You can uninstall Prism, and have the database registry cleaned.
Regarding the key since this is the same PC, and if you do not change in between motherboard, it will simply be a key recall, and nothing will be decremented.

Thanks Cyril,
I'll give a clean install a shot and see what happens and of course let you know the results, good or bad.
BTW, here's a screenshot of the strange "W" curve I received.

And I also received this error but don't speak/read French so I don't understand what it means. Anything I should be concerned with?

OK, I uninstalled everything and now I can't seem to find a download link to re-download the program. I did find the email with my license key but the download link was only good for 30 days and no longer works. Can you please PM me a link to try again? Will send PM's to you and Hamza.

there is a red button called "télécharger", the install file is English language compliant.

Thanks Cyril,
I've managed to get the program re-installed and the issues still persist.
I'm hoping to TeamViewer with Hamza in the next couple days so he can see....and hopefully fix the problems.
