script manual format?

Hey, I'd like to get started writing some programs. I wonder if someone could provide/post the scripting manual in pdf format?

My mac has no app to interpret and .chm format. Am I missing something?

I attempted to load these help pages on my PC and can get a table of contents and and index but no actual text. Can you take a look?
