I gotta ask, are you trying this function with images already open in PRISM? or trying to actually open one?

Yes - I am interacting with an open (guide cam) image
and yes - selectimg works!
My script works in simulation - awaiting field trials....
I am tryng to partially automate star positioning on a spectrograph slit... I had though the 'move by vector' (context menu item in an image) might work, but I dont understand its operation (it seems counterintuitive to me) and there is no documentation as far as I can see?
